Matthew 12:34 says that out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. Sometimes I catch myself in the middle of saying something, and this verse automatically comes to mind. What is in my heart?! Oh Jesus, would you be the overflow that comes from my heart and out of my mouth! The voice of love and truth that always builds up and never tears down.
lyrics
I speak the kindest words, and whisper when nobody hears
What is my overflow, what is my overflow
And no one knows my heart, except the words that tell so well
What is my overflow, it’s when I speak I know
And I see deep into my heart when I speak what do I impart
One word and a thousand motives
You see the contents of my heart
My tongue tells of my condition
I’m crying for You to be my overflow, overflow
Am I a thousand swords, each one to kill a thousand dreams
What is my overflow, what is my overflow
Am I the voice of love, compassion dripping from my lips
What is my overflow, what is my overflow
And I see deep into my heart when I speak what do I impart
All the words, all the words that You hear me say
You’ll hold each one accountable one day
Let me speak though it were Your voice
Reaching out through me
