about

"Jesus called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.""
Matthew 18:2-4
My heart often aches at how "grown up" I've become. Where my common sense can override my faith, and where the wonder of who God is can get lost in the business of the day to day. I think one of the things I pray most often is that God would cause me to be more childlike, full of wonder, full of trust, and completely void of the day to day cares of what to eat, what to wear, who to impress. Oh that my father would have my undivided trust and affection.

lyrics

I used to be a child before I came to know the ways of man
I used to sit at Your feet, hang on Your words, drink up Your love
Yes I used to be a child
I used to be a child before I learned to be mature
Yes I did believe like a fool
And the world had to know my Father was good
Oh I used to be a child

Hard heart, soften now
And these walls I've built I'm tearing to the ground
'Cause somehow I've lost my sight
And I need to see myself as Your child

I used to be a child before I ever felt the need to please
Oh how I trusted Your love, that was enough, all that I needed
I used to be a child

Let a foolish dance begin in my feet
And a loud song of praise in my mouth
Let all my offenses leave, let all my defenses fall
You will have me right where You want me

Oh and I'm gonna sing a new song to my Father
